As part of the City of Santa Clara’s efforts to “enhance community sports and recreational assets,” the City selected Verde Design to renovate two of its community parks. The project is funded as part of the Playtime Grant from Playcore, which provides funding for inclusive playgrounds incorporating age-appropriate playground equipment and activities.
The Verde team is designing playground improvements for Machado park, located adjacent to Briarwood Elementary School. The design incorporates neighborhood and community input on the playground and park elements, creating age-friendly places, pathways and inclusionary play spaces focused on health and fitness, sustainability, and the natural habitat.
