Draftsperson II/Job Captain | Santa Clara, CA
Position Overview As a Draftsperson II/Job Captain at Verde Design, Inc., you’ll play a crucial role in preparing graphics, manual and/or computer-aided (CAD) drafting, meeting preparation, and producing landscape construction documents and packages. You’ll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects and collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals.

Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SketchUp, Land F/X, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Project
- Solid design, hand graphics, and rendering skills
- Strong multi-tasking and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of California plant material and irrigation design
- AutoCAD proficiency
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited college or university (preferred). Degrees in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related fields will also be considered.

Education Degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Planning or other approved Degree is considered a minimum. Advanced degrees or additional degrees in management, finance, marketing, design art, or other disciplines that will benefit the firm will be favorably received. Position Description Verde Design, a dynamic and innovative leader in landscape architecture and urban design, is seeking a talented Landscape Architect Project Manager of Design to join our team. As a Project Manager Designer, you will provide design support for the firm while ensuring corporate goals, objectives, and plans are effectively executed. You will be responsible for directing the daily operations of the design discipline, operating the design efficiently and profitably, participating in marketing activities and business development, and creating an environment conducive to high-quality design, productive cooperation, and professionalism. You will report directly to the Principal in Charge of the projects.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of experience within the profession is required for this position.
- Experience leading design efforts for public, athletic, educational, community, urban design, commercial, and planning projects.
- A license in the state of California to practice their specific discipline (L.A., P.E., Arch., etc.) is required. Further credentials may be required depending on their area of expertise.
- Thorough knowledge of design practice, including marketing and contract development, budgeting and scheduling, programming and planning, design process, project management, specifications and construction drawing development, codes, materials, costs, and construction techniques.
- Proficiency in the use of computers for design and understanding CAD operations. Must research and remain current on the state of the art in landscape design through review of periodicals, continuing education, and involvement with professional organizations.
- Ability to creatively devise and effectively present ideas graphically, orally, and in writing; analyze a situation, draw sound conclusions and develop recommendations; plan, organize, assign and coordinate staff activities; and oversee the production/design process.

Staff Engineer | Santa Clara, CA
Position DescriptionAs a Staff Engineer, you will coordinate project teams in all project-related tasks, including production efforts, quality control, specifications, construction drawings, submittals, and construction administration. Your responsibilities will cover utility design (storm and sanitary sewage systems, potable water systems), hydrology analysis, grading, earthwork design, and general site development engineering applications. This is a highly collaborative role that combines design, administrative work, and production of design documentation.
Qualifications We are looking for team players who possess:
- Professional licensure
- A minimum of 4 years of experience
- A degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited ABET College/University (preferred but not required)
- Strong design and hand graphic skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills
- Critical thinking skills, construction sequencing, and material detailing knowledge
- Experience in post-construction stormwater management plan production and report writing
Experience Required Minimum 4 years of professional experience with a focus on civil engineering applications. Professional licensure is required.
