Equity Offices, Palo Alto

Airport Office: Verde Design collaborated with BKF Engineers and Gonzalez Architects as part of the project team tasked with revitalizing Airport Place in San José. This area, which encompasses several blocks and features a variety of restaurants, banks, and offices, required enhancements to boost the visibility of current businesses and draw in new tenants. The project involved replacing over 86,000 square feet of turf with a new plant palette that includes low-water-use grasses, perennials, and mow-free sod. Additionally, the existing spray irrigation system was upgraded to a more efficient drip system. This combination of new planting and irrigation design not only reduces water consumption and maintenance needs but also introduces fresh visual appeal to the space.

Gateway Plaza: This project project focused on transforming the area between three corporate towers located at the end of a cul-de-sac into a dynamic two-tiered plaza. The primary goal was to create a versatile outdoor space that would provide tenants with private areas while also accommodating larger corporate events. Verde Design spearheaded the master planning process, offering a variety of solutions tailored to different budget levels. To enhance this process, we produced three-dimensional graphics illustrating the proposed designs.

Sand Hill: This space focused on revitalizing an existing office tower to enhance its appeal and functionality for new clients. The design objectives included increasing the visibility and accessibility of the building’s entrance from the parking area, creating a dedicated space for employees to unwind, and enhancing the ground floor’s views of the surrounding outdoor environment for both clients and staff. The renovations incorporated a range of improvements, such as the installation of new hardscape elements, the addition of seat walls, and the introduction of various plantings, all aimed at fostering a more inviting and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere.

Hillview: The owners of the property at 3400 Hillview engaged Verde Design to create a landscape renovation plan aimed at enhancing the functionality of the grounds for prospective tenants. Preliminary assessments focused on the development of outdoor meeting spaces, gathering areas, courtyards, and improved access routes. A key early initiative involved replanting a landscape berm around the perimeter to provide a visual barrier from Foothill Boulevard.

Hillsdale: This project encompassed a unique trio of adjacent commercial properties, featuring a retail center centrally located between two commercial office buildings. Our design focused on enhancing the exterior gathering spaces, improving visibility, addressing accessibility challenges, and upgrading site lighting, all while prioritizing sustainability. Additionally, enhancements to the streetscape and entry monument areas were implemented to increase awareness of the property among passersby.

Palo Alto Square: Palo Alto Square stands as a significant property in Palo Alto. We have collaborated with the owners to create renovation plans for the interior plaza located between two high-rise buildings and three two-story structures. The primary objectives are to enhance amenities and increase meeting and gathering spaces for tenants. Our team has proposed a variety of concepts, ranging from minor upgrades to a complete redesign of the area.
