Verde Design undertook the development of master plans and construction documentation, in addition to providing construction administration services for four pocket parks situated in Roseville. These pocket parks are intentionally designed as small green spaces that prioritize public access. Each location showcases expansive green areas enhanced by drought-tolerant landscaping, thereby fostering environmental sustainability while encouraging community involvement.
Kay Sakamoto Park: The park spans 1.25 acres and features a designated play area for children, along with shaded seating options and a picnic area that is complemented by a scooter pathway designed for kids, which meanders throughout the space. Additional amenities within the park include a tire swing, walking paths that encircle the perimeter, and various site furnishings such as bicycle racks, drinking fountains, benches, picnic tables, and security lighting to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors.
Bev Bos Park: A 1.5-acre park situated in West Roseville boasts two expansive open turf sections interspersed with drought-resistant landscaping. This park is equipped with two distinct play zones; the first features a standalone swing set, while the second is designed around an engaging climbing structure that incorporates sliding elements. Additionally, a 20-foot by 20-foot steel shade structure is conveniently positioned between the play areas, providing a comfortable space for community members to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
Jim Gray Park: The property encompasses an area of 1.32 acres, featuring a designated children’s play zone complemented by a nearby shaded seating and picnic area. Additionally, the site includes a half-court basketball facility, pathways for pedestrian movement, and a variety of site furnishings to enhance the overall experience for visitors.
North Hayden Park: The site, encompassing an area of 0.96 acres, is primarily focused on two bocce courts, which are complemented by seating arrangements and tables situated under shaded canopies. This recreational zone is further enhanced by the surrounding expanse of open green space, providing a pleasant and inviting atmosphere for visitors.
