Verde Design was selected by the City of Sunnyvale for the renovation of Fair Oaks Park, a 15-acre community park located in Northern Sunnyvale, originally built in 1969. The design includes the replacement of the existing natural grass athletic field with synthetic turf for its baseball, soccer, and multi-use fields. This is the City’s first park with synthetic turf, which will greatly extend the duration of playtime, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall. Alongside the remarkable fields, we collaborated closely with both the Magical Bridge Foundation and City staff to seamlessly integrate an all-inclusive playground into the park’s overall design. This inclusive approach ensures that individuals of all abilities can enjoy the park’s amenities and foster a sense of community. The project also included hardcourt improvements, expanded picnic areas, and circulation and infrastructure improvements.
