Fair Oaks Recreation and Park District selected Verde Design to develop the master plan, prepare construction documentation, and manage the construction administration for Jim Streng Park, located in Fair Oaks. Covering an area of 0.6 acres, the park is designed to provide a diverse range of amenities suitable for both children and adults. The children’s play area features synthetic turf surfacing, which promotes a safe and enjoyable environment for young visitors. In addition, the park includes a natural play area that incorporates boulders and logs, offering a distinctive and engaging play experience. To improve safety and visibility during nighttime, solar-powered lighting has been installed throughout the park, fostering a welcoming ambiance. Thoughtfully designed pathways wind through the park, inviting guests to leisurely explore its scenic beauty. Moreover, the park is designed with inclusivity in mind, featuring an accessible ramp at the entrance to ensure that all individuals can partake in its offerings.
Further enhancements to the park include the installation of an automated irrigation system controlled by solar power, as well as various site furnishings such as drinking fountains, custom lounge seating, decorative plantings, and ornamental fencing. Additionally, the park will feature butterfly gardens and native wildflower gardens, providing visitors with opportunities to appreciate the local flora and fauna.
