Legacy Fields Sports Complex / Tracy

Verde Design has collaborated closely with the City of Tracy and the local community from the initial stages of the master plan to the creation of construction documents for a 166-acre youth sports park, which is currently being developed in multiple phases. The Legacy Fields Sports Complex, as it stands, features two baseball/softball complexes arranged in a wagon-wheel configuration, each comprising five fields, alongside an expansive soccer complex with eight fields.

The first construction phase focused on establishing essential infrastructure, which included site rough grading, drainage systems, an irrigation pond and pump, as well as the entry drive, parking lots, and pedestrian pathways. The subsequent phase saw the development of the sports fields, fencing, and access routes to the fields. In the third phase, restroom facilities, two concession stands, and additional hardscape elements and furnishings were constructed. The fourth phase introduced sports field lighting for a total of 13 fields, along with scoreboards for five baseball fields, 19 shade structures for spectators, and two maintenance sheds. Notably, the western baseball fields were enhanced with warm-up areas, landscaping, and entry points, completing this segment in 2020.

Recently, Verde Design finalized the fifth phase of enhancements, which involved renovating the five eastern baseball fields to match the standards of the western fields. This phase also included paving the parking lots, adding a new parking area, and incorporating electric vehicle charging infrastructure, along with the development of entry and wayfinding signage throughout the park.
