The City of Morgan Hill worked with Verde Design on the planning and schematic design for an all-inclusive playground that will be a destination for families and people throughout the South Bay Area. The City and Verde Design collaborated with the Morgan Hill Inclusive Play Committee (MHIPC), an energetic group of community members who raised awareness and over $72,000 to build the playground and surrounding amenities. Verde Design was chosen for this project to manage this engagement process, and to take the input gathered to create concept designs for the playground, integration into the existing park, and the redesign of the existing parking lots. Through this intensive process with local schools and the MHIPC Verde Design developed a final schematic master plan that was presented and approved by the Parks and Recreation Commission and the City Council. With the schematic master plan, graphics, presentation information, and other support documents approved, the MHIPC started their fundraising efforts, and eventually teamed with the Magical Bridge Foundation with the playground opening in January 2022.
