St. Anthony High School, situated in Long Beach, California, is a private educational institution that is undergoing a significant redevelopment project aimed at enhancing its athletic facilities. This initiative involves the replacement of an existing field house, track oval, soccer field, and baseball amenities located on a separate parcel designated for the school’s use. In partnership with the athletic staff and CSDA Design Group, Verde Design has taken the lead in crafting a comprehensive site plan for the athletic area, which will be executed in two distinct phases. The initial phase encompasses the establishment of a state-of-the-art track and field stadium, which will feature an athletics building, covered seating for spectators, and enhancements to the parking facilities. Given the constraints of the site, a bespoke design was necessitated for an 8-lane, 350-meter track equipped with all-weather surfacing. The stadium will also boast a synthetic turf field, marked for both football and soccer, along with LED lighting and a multi-functional scoreboard.
The subsequent phase of the project will introduce new baseball and softball facilities situated to the north of the stadium, each equipped with a press box, bleacher seating, concrete masonry unit dugouts, batting cages, and LED lighting. Additionally, this phase will feature a digital marquee and the “Saints Wall,” a dedicated site element designed to celebrate the school’s athletic accomplishments and recognize significant contributors. To aid in fundraising initiatives, a 3D model of the athletic complex has been developed in collaboration with CSDA, allowing for the creation of high-quality renderings. Furthermore, a detailed cost estimate has been prepared to outline the financial scope of the proposed improvements.
