Verde Design’s expertise in athletic facility design, particularly in track and field development, led to our selection by Byrom-Davey Inc. as a key member of the Design-Build team tasked with the creation of a new competition track and field venue for the University of California, Santa Barbara. This state-of-the-art Pauley track and field facility features a newly constructed NCAA-standard 400-meter urethane track, complemented by additional areas designated for field events. The project incorporated Low Impact Development (LID) strategies, which included the installation of subterranean stormwater chambers designed to facilitate the infiltration of captured water into surrounding soils.

Furthermore, the throwing field has been enhanced with upgraded lighting to accommodate nighttime events, alongside comprehensive re-grading and re-grassing efforts. Verde Design was responsible for producing detailed construction documents and providing construction administration and oversight services throughout the project. Our collaborative efforts involved coordination with various regulatory bodies, including the local water agency, the California Coastal Commission, the State Fire Marshal, and DSA.
