Verde Design teamed with the Benicia Unified School District to provide the student athletes at Benicia High School with a newly renovated stadium complex to meet their needs.
Utilizing the Lease-Leaseback method, the project included the design of a new stadium facility, with an all-weather track, synthetic field, track events, home/visitor bleachers, stadium lighting for exciting night games, improved entry area to welcome spectators and guests and concession building/ ticketing, along with new buildings for restrooms, team rooms, and storage.
To honor the school’s traditions, the Verde team designed the track to accommodate the School’s homecoming float access along the home side. Student athletes now play on a new synthetic turf field, with a cork infill. Other improvements to the site included upgraded utilities (for stormwater and sewer), a new PA system and improved data connectivity.
As part of this project, the Verde team participated in the pre-qualification process for the general contractor to support the District with informed decision-making. We also lead DSA review and approval, and CGS approval for the geotechnical report.
