Calistoga Junior-Senior High School, Calistoga

Verde Design was retained by the Calistoga Wildcats Athletic Booster Club to develop a comprehensive athletic facilities master plan for Calistoga Junior-Senior High School. The goal of the effort was to establish a long-term vision for modernizing the school’s athletic facilities while providing the Calistoga Joint Unified School District with a clear understanding of future programming opportunities, site constraints, and implementation costs.

One of the project’s primary challenges was the limited size of the athletic campus. Existing baseball, softball, tennis, and track and field facilities were compressed within a footprint that would typically accommodate only a portion of the desired athletic program. Working closely with the Booster Club and District representatives, Verde Design developed a creative and efficient master plan that maximized the available space while improving circulation, functionality, spectator experience, and overall campus athletics programming.

The master plan established a long-term roadmap for athletic facility improvements, including a new all-weather track and field venue, synthetic turf football and soccer field, spectator seating, support facilities, and dedicated baseball and softball amenities. Following completion of the master planning effort, Verde Design was subsequently selected by the District to design and implement the first phase of improvements, which included construction of the new all-weather track and synthetic turf athletic field. Recently completed, these improvements have transformed the school’s primary athletic venue and provide students and the community with a modern, high-quality facility that supports physical education, athletics, and special events throughout the year.
