Mount Diablo Unified School District is benefiting from new tennis courts on three high school campuses following a renovation to its existing facilities. Verde Design provided landscape architectural and site engineering services for various site improvements for a number of their high schools, CLAYTON VALLEY, COLLEGE PARK, CONCORD, MOUNT DIABLO, NORTHGATE, and YGNACIO VALLEY, and several of their middle and elementary schools.
SITE IMPROVEMENTS As part of our services, the Verde team provided design, construction documents, and construction administration. Working collaboratively, the Verde team and District staff designed solutions to creatively ensure long-term and efficient access. Verde Design converted any existing drinking fountains into an ADA accessible fountain at each of the sites. The design team also included electrical engineering and structural engineering consultants.
TENNIS COURTS The first round of tennis courts completed were at Concord High School, only restriping was required with no fencing improvements. Both Northgate and College Park High Schools received new tennis court surfacing, fencing and accessible gates, with drainage improvements around the court perimeter. Northgate High School required a new sloped walk and handrails for access to the elevated bank of courts bringing them up to current accessibility standards.
