Orchard School District (District) approached Verde Design with the task of renovating a natural grass field that had fallen into disrepair, characterized by numerous gopher holes and challenging maintenance requirements. Initially, they engaged our services to develop two distinct proposals: one for a new natural grass field and another for a synthetic turf option. This dual approach was intended to provide the District with a comprehensive comparison of costs and potential outcomes, enabling them to make a well-informed decision based on actual bid results.
Upon reviewing both proposals, the District opted for the synthetic turf field, recognizing its advantages in durability and year-round playability. Alongside the installation of the turf, Verde Design upgraded the existing baseball backstop and introduced a new one for the softball field, ensuring both facilities met current standards. Additionally, we incorporated field striping to facilitate the use of the area for various sports.
To further enrich the athletic facilities available to the school, we designed a new all-weather track, a significant enhancement that the school had previously lacked, thus providing students with a dedicated venue for physical education activities. The track is also equipped with fitness stations to bolster the school’s fitness initiatives, catering to the needs of both students and faculty. This project has effectively resolved longstanding challenges while equipping the school with a modern, multifunctional facility that will serve its community well into the future.
