With the original track demolished and new track installed, the rapidly growing Rocklin community can count on Whitney High School’s new synthetic turf field and all-weather track lasting for many seasons. Verde Design contributed to this project’s success by preparing construction and bid documents, regrading the existing stone base, adding improved drainage, and installing a composite base, new two-inch synthetic turf, and a five-millimeter polyurethane resurfacing of the existing all-weather track. These improvements mean that Whitney High School will receive twelve additional years’ worth of use at a cost 30% less than all-weather surface replacement. In addition, by using a composite base and new headers, field maintenance efforts will be reduced to only turf replacement for the next 25 years.
