After an incredible career spanning more than 50 years in education, facilities, and community leadership, Verde Design proudly celebrates the retirement of Ron Edwards—a trusted advisor, a constant source of encouragement, and a key contributor to our firm’s growth and success.

Ron brought a rare and invaluable perspective to Verde Design, shaped by decades of experience in K–12 and higher education as an educator, coach, athletic director, and school administrator. His deep understanding of the challenges faced by school districts and campuses made him an exceptional partner to both our team and our clients.

Prior to joining Verde Design, Ron served as the Manager of Community Services and Construction for San Jose Unified School District, where he played a pivotal role in evaluating bond measures, securing funding for facility improvements, and negotiating with architects, contractors, and vendors. His ability to bring people together—whether community members, school staff, or public officials—was instrumental in building consensus and moving projects forward successfully.

At Verde Design, Ron quickly became more than a team member—he became a recognizable face of the firm. Known for his ever-present smile, uplifting attitude, and genuine care for others, Ron built lasting relationships with clients, partners, and colleagues alike. He had a unique ability to connect with people, listen thoughtfully, and guide conversations toward meaningful and productive outcomes. He also formed enduring friendships throughout the industry, earning the respect and admiration of peers across agencies, districts, and partner firms.

Ron’s contributions extended far beyond his technical expertise. He helped shape the culture of our firm—reminding us daily of the importance of collaboration, integrity, and maintaining an optimistic outlook, no matter the challenge. His presence elevated every project and every interaction.

As Ron steps into retirement, we celebrate not only his remarkable career, but also the lasting impact he has had on Verde Design and the many communities he has served. His legacy will continue to be felt through the relationships he built, the projects he helped bring to life, and the example he set for all of us.
