The student athletes at five of Elk Grove Unified School District’s (District) high schools are benefiting from new sports fields and facilities, as several athletic projects completed recently. In 2017, the District partnered with Verde Design, for campus-wide athletic improvements, as part of it’s Measure M Bond. Florin, Franklin, Laguna Creek, and Pleasant Grove High Schools all received new all-weather track and field venues, and a new synthetic turf field was installed at Valley High School. The project work also included upgrades to the paths of travel for accessibility, perimeter fencing, and new plantings. Drainage and electrical infrastructure improvements were also implemented, to ensure the maximum amount of play time, and safety for the students. (The Verde Design team provided schematic design, construction documents, DSA access review, and bid and construction support.)
