The City of Brentwood selected Verde Design to lead the planning, schematic design, and construction documentation for its Sand Creek Sports Complex. The construction is projected to commence in the early of 2025, in accordance with the City’s Strategic Plan. This complex will be developed on a 16-acre parcel of City-owned land, which is located adjacent to a flood control detention basin project managed by Contra Costa County and the Sand Creek. Verde Design has partnered with the County to determine the necessary soil volume, establish field elevations, and outline the construction timeline.

Through a series of community engagement workshops and close cooperation with City staff, Verde Design has crafted a comprehensive conceptual plan along with cost estimates. The proposed plan encompasses the construction of three full-size, lighted synthetic turf fields, as well as facilities for restrooms, storage, and offices. Additional features will include a parking lot, shade structures, multi-sport hardcourts, a playground, a pump track, picnic areas, landscaping, and site furnishings. Furthermore, a subsequent phase of the project is planned to introduce two natural turf full-size fields within the flood control detention basin area.
