The project will continue construction throughout the summer and into fall with a new synthetic turf field, lined for soccer and football, and an all-weather surface, eight-lane track, scheduled to open in November 2018. Verde Design is proud to be part of this project, as it renews the school’s decades-old facilities with a brand-new track & field for student athletes to enjoy. The Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD) partnered with Verde Design for the athletic improvements as part of the Measure R bonds. In 2012, voters approved Measure R for $68,000,000 to improve district facilities. The goal of Measure R is “to improve the health and safety of children, repair playgrounds and play-fields to meet modern safety standards, improve physical education facilities and bathrooms, improve irrigation systems and water drainage to reduce water consumption, remove asbestos, lead paint and other unsafe conditions…”
