Following a recent and thorough Design-Build competition, San Juan Unified School District selected Verde Design in collaboration with general contractor Robert A. Bothman to execute five new projects within the District. In addition, Verde Design has been assigned the responsibility of developing contract documents for two final sites, one of which is Mesa Verde High School in Citrus Heights.
The upgrade of the athletic facilities at Mesa Verde represents a significant advancement for the School, marking a considerable improvement over its previous infrastructure, which consisted solely of a dirt track and basic grass fields. The newly recognized ASBA 2024 Outstanding Outdoor Track & Field Facility of the Year features a state-of-the-art stadium equipped with bleachers, lighting, a press box, restrooms, a concession stand, a ticket booth, and a premium synthetic turf field. These enhancements not only foster a sense of pride among students but also establish a dedicated venue for athletic pursuits. Moreover, the facility serves as a vital resource for the Citrus Heights community, providing local residents and organizations with a central location for various events, thereby reducing the need to seek alternative venues for their gatherings. This athletic complex exemplifies a robust commitment to promoting community engagement and enhancing access to high-quality sports facilities.
Additional improvements to the athletic offerings at the School include the installation of a synthetic turf soccer field, enhancements to the softball facilities, and the creation of a six-court tennis complex, along with expanded parking and drop-off areas, as well as upgrades to ensure compliance with ADA standards.
