The City of Tracy (City) celebrated the completion of its Legacy Fields Phase 1-A and 1-B project this fall, marking a significant milestone in the construction of the Legacy Fields Sports Complex. The sports complex represents years of planning and partnerships with the City and local youth sports leagues. Responding to a groundswell of local and regional demand for sports facilities, the sports complex, when complete, will span 166 acres and serve as the premiere destination facility for youth sporting events in Northern California. Phases 1-A and 1-B, spanning 40 acres, benefit the community with 10 youth baseball fields and six soccer fields. The Legacy Fields Sports Complex will eventually be the largest multi-sport facility in the region and will aid in responding to the growing demand for sports facilities.
Fun Fact: The City of Tracy’s Legacy Youth Sports Complex is located in a 100-year flood plain, has a high water table, and is underlain with clay soil. There is a PG&E easement running diagonally across the site and the west end of the site adjoins parcels with other uses. Our civil engineers drew upon extensive experience to generate grading and drainage plans that would address these issues, while maximizing the usable acreage.
