The City of San Jose and Verde Design recently celebrated the grand opening of the newest addition at Lake Cunningham Action Sports Park – an 8.5-acre extreme bike park. The bike park, which is an addition to the 68,000 square-foot skate park (project also led by Verde Design), offers over 45 riding features, is accessible for all ages/skill levels, and secures Lake Cunningham Regional Park as the premier outdoor action sports park destination in California.

Last week, the bike park project was honored with the 2018 Project of the Year Award ($2.5M – $5M project category) by American Public Works Association (APWA). APWA’s national awards program was established to recognize outstanding individuals, groups, and chapters representing the best in the public works profession. The award’s ceremony was hosted at Shoreline Golf Course in Mountain View, and the Verde project team was in attendance, along with our project partners Hilride and Wormhoudt.
