Fremont-High-School As part of a district-wide improvements project across six schools, Fremont High School stands out for both its scope of work and highly accelerated design schedule. Our designers worked quickly to take the project from concept to DSA submittal in six weeks, meeting the District’s goal of beginning construction in Summer 2009.The large project scope consisted of a stadium track & field, baseball field, and softball field with field lighting, PA systems, scoreboards, and site furnishings; soccer and multi-use field with bleachers and scoreboards; and entry plaza including the entry signage and landscaping- all phased to coincide with the athletic seasons and minimize disruption to the campus. A number of sustainable elements were also included: the use of synthetic turf for reduced water usage, lower maintenance costs, and more playable hours; a central irrigation system with integrated bioswales for more efficient water usage; and solar voltaic arrays between fields that double as a shade structure for spectator seating. The delivery method selected by the District was a lease-leaseback method, which helped to create a collaborative environment for the design team, the District, and the contractor and resulted in the entire series of projects being completed on time and on budget.
